This article describes how to give customers offers/discounts using coupon.

Tip 1: Use Coupon to offer discount to boost sales on occasions.
Tip 2: Coupons can be created for individual products, all products or exclude products.

Discount Types

Discount types available on My Mak Buddy.

  • Percentage Discount
  • Fixed Cart Discount
  • Fixed Product Discount
  • Booking Person Discount (Amount Off Per Person)
  • Sign Up Fee Discount
  • Sign Up Fee % Discount
  • Recurring Product Discount
  • Recurring Product %Discount

Let us understand how each discount type works.

Percentage Discount

Percentage Discount means when a customer uses the coupon in his order then she/he will get a discount depending on his order total amount. He will get a discount of the percentage mentioned on the coupon of his total order.

Example: Let’s say you give a discount of 20% using percentage discount.

  • Customer A making a purchase of ₹100/- will have to pay only ₹93/-(100 – 7% of 100) if the coupon is used in checkout.
  • Similarly, customer B making a purchase of ₹800/- will have to pay ₹640/- (800 – 20% of 800) only if the coupon is used in checkout.

Fixed Cart Discount

In the fixed cart discount, customers will get a fixed total discount for the entire cart. The customer will get the discount as mentioned in the coupon irrespective of quantity of amount.

*** It is recommended to set a minimum cart amount to qualify the discount.

Example: Let’s say you give a discount of ₹100 using using fixed cart discount.

  • Customer A making a purchase of product P, Q, R, S will have to pay Cart Total – ₹100/- if the coupon is used in checkout.
  • Similarly, customer B making a purchase of products D, E, F, P, Q will also have to pay Cart Total – ₹100/- if the coupon is used in checkout.

Fixed Product Discount

Fixed Product Discount coupon means when a customer uses the coupon she/he will get a fixed amount discount for each item.

Example: Let’s say you give a discount of ₹20/- using fixed product discount.

  • Customer A making a purchase using the coupon will get discount like the following.
    • product X costing ₹100/- will have to pay ₹80/-(100-20) only.
    • product Y costing ₹150/- will have to pay ₹130/-(150-20)
  • Similarly, customer B making a purchase using the coupon will get discount like the following.
    • product P costing ₹300/- will have to pay ₹280/-(300-20) only.
    • product Q costing ₹170/- will have to pay ₹150/-(170-20) only.
    • product R costing ₹400/- will have to pay ₹380/-(400-20) only

Booking Person Discount (Amount Off Per Person)

Booking Person Discount coupon means when a customer uses the coupon she/he will get an amount discount per person in the booking.

Sign Up Fee Discount

Sign Up Fee Discount coupon means when a customer uses the coupon she/he will get a fixed amount discount in the sign up fee for signing up for a subscription as mentioned in the coupon.

**Note: This type of coupon can only be used for subscription product which has got a sign up fee.

Sign Up Fee % Discount

Sign Up Fee % Discount coupon means when a customer uses the coupon she/he will get a fixed percentage discount in the sign up fee for signing up for a subscription as mentioned in the coupon.

**Note: This type of coupon can only be used for subscription product which has got a sign up fee.

Recurring Product Discount

Recurring Product Discount coupon means when a customer uses the coupon she/he will get a fixed amount discount in the sign up fee for signing up for a recurring subscription as mentioned in the coupon.

**Note: This type of coupon can be used for recurring subscription product only.

Recurring Product % Discount

Recurring Product Discount coupon means when a customer uses the coupon she/he will get a fixed amount discount in the sign up fee for signing up for a recurring subscription as mentioned in the coupon.

**Note: This type of coupon can be used for recurring subscription product only.

Create Coupons

Go to Vendor Dashboard Coupons Add New Coupon

Add New Coupon In Vendor Dashboard

Once you click on Add New Coupon, the following screenshot will appear:-

Creating Coupon
  1. Coupon Title: Add the name you want to give to your coupon.
  2. Description: In this field, you can add what the coupon is about.
  3. Discount Type: This drop-down lets vendors select type of discount as explained above.
  4. Amount: Add the discount amount (percentage/fixed) here.
  5. Email Restrictions: Choose to limit the coupon to certain emails if you like. If you insert an email, then only customers with the added email would be able to use the coupon.
  6. Usage Limit: Add the number here if you want to restrict coupon usage to a certain amount.
  7. Expire Date: If you would like for the coupon to remain usable only up to a certain time, select the expiry date here.
  8. Exclude Sale Items: Vendors can select this checkbox if they want to opt-out sale items from the coupon offer.
  9. Minimum Amount: Select the minimum amount an order should be for a customer to apply for the coupon.
  10. Product: Vendors can select one, multiple, or all products they are selling at their respective stores.
  11. Exclude products: Vendors can also exclude the coupon from applying to a particular product or multiple products.
  12. Show on store: Select this checkbox to display the coupon code on your storefront.

After completing steps above click on Create Coupon to create coupon. Once you create coupon, it will appear like the screenshot below.

Coupon Visibility

Your coupons will be visible on your store page only if you check show on store while creating a coupon. Screenshot of how your coupons will be visible on your store page is given below:-

You always edit a coupon after it has been created.

Conclusion

Creating coupon on My Mak Buddy is easy. Create coupons and scale your sales on My Mak Buddy. A small coupon can attract a lot of Customers.
